Home Information Packs
The way we buy and sell properties in England and Wales is changing.
As part of the government commitment to making buying and selling homes easier, home owners or their selling agents are required to have a Home Information Pack (HIP) available when marketing properties for sale.
From August 1st 2007, HIPs will be required on all properties with four bedrooms or more. HIP requirements for smaller properties will be phased in soon after.
Home Information Packs will provide important information to prospective purchasers, giving increased transparency on key issues and meaning any offer to purchase is based on an informed decision.
